QED's Reference range introduces a ground-breaking arrival with the Audio 40 analogue interconnect. The Reference 40 retains all the rhythm of the original Reference cables but is designed primarily for low capacitance for an unforgettably tight sound.
The innovative Complimentary Conductor Technology™ utilises two conductors of different diameters to carry the same audio signal. This has the effect of providing an alternative path for high frequency audio components which might otherwise become time smeared in a single audio pathway. The dielectric is made from Foamed Polyethylene has been used to cut down on the amount of audio signal energy lost due to cable capacitance.
The QED Reference Audio 40 RCA plugs feature an Analoc™ locking plug design, a low eddy current which swaps the usual large volume brass body for small high purity copper conductors. Each plug is 24k gold-plated for a perfect connection, anti-tarnish qualities, long-lasting low contact resistance and cuts down or eliminates the tendency for the changing magnetic field in the conductor to induce eddy currents which can affect the micro timing of the audio signal.
