Any device with up to 8 amplified hi-level outputs or 6 pre-amplified low-level outputs can be used as the main source. Bit One also provides 5 additional source inputs with 4 different connection types available:\u003cbr\u003e- 2 S\/PDIF PCM mode digital inputs, one optical and one coaxial electric;\u003cbr\u003e- 2 RCA type low-level (PRE) inputs, for use with any external source, such as MP3 players or gaming consoles;\u003cbr\u003e- a hi-level (PHONE IN) “momentary audio interrupt” input for use with devices such as cellular phone hands-free kits that provide a \"Mute\" function.\u003cbr\u003eThe eight hi-level inputs can be configured to reconstruct a stereo signal, even when used with filtered outputs used to drive component speakers (tweeter, midrange, woofer, etc.) in factory OEM systems. Thanks to the on-screen instructions provided by the software during the set-up, the Bit One can automatically sum multiple filtered channels and then “flatten” the response curve of the OEM source, and if necessary, can also reconstruct the center and subwoofer channels. By leading the appropriate track on the provided test disc (CD or DVD for multimedia configurations) the DSP reconstructs the full-bandwidth signal, rectifying its frequency response, providing a flat, full range signal.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOutputs\u003c\/span\u003e The Bit One features eight output channels: either with analog pre-amplified RCA type connections, or in digital mode with the proprietary AD Link connection. The two different modes can also be used simultaneously by associating the outputs within the custom-made software.\u003cbr\u003eThe AD Link connection uses a standard CAT 5.S LAN cable terminated with RJ45 connectors to transmit up to eight channels of digital audio to amplifiers equipped with this feature (such as found on the new Audison Thesis TH series). The AC Link is dedicated to the “control” of the system. The DRC, to be installed within easy reach of the user, provides fingertip memories for up to four “tuning” configurations created and saved by the Bit One. Ergonomic buttons enable the user to control the various inputs as well as volume, balance, fader and subwoofer level functions. The Windows-based (Win2000, XP, Vista) Software can be used in two different “working” modes. The Standard mode guarantees straight forward and simplified system management achieving great results with little effort: the guided crossover set-up procedure, according to the functions assigned to the outputs, assists the user in setting up the crossovers and equalization enabling the tuning of any system in just a few “clicks”.
