Alpine Introduces New Alpine Style Infotainment

System for Volkswagen Golf 7.

High-end audio and navigation system with 9-inch screen is designed for perfect integration into the Golf 7.

Munich, December 10th, 2015 - Alpine Electronics Europe announces the release of a new Alpine Style Infotainment system designed exclusively for the Volkswagen Golf 7. The X901D-G7 Alpine Style system gives Golf 7 owners access to the latest media compatibility, cutting-edge navigation technology and Alpine’s audiophile sound quality. All system components are designed to fit perfectly in existing installation locations and integrate fully with the vehicle’s electronic systems.

One of the most impressive features of the system is its 9-inch (22.9cm) high-resolution touch screen. This is the largest screen for a Golf 7 dashboard to date - twice as large compared to the standard 6.5-inch VW screen. It employs the latest video technology for superior picture clarity, contrast and resolution, allowing navigation maps to be displayed in stunning detail, while movies and video clips become a high-end cinematic experience. Touch-screen technology allows full operation of the system via an easy-to-understand user interface.

The Alpine Style system is
 fully compatible with the Golf 7’s steering wheel control buttons so drivers maintain command of all functions. It is also connected to the Driver Information Display in the instrument cluster and can even show navigation turn-by-turn arrows (after the first software update in March 2016). Connectivity to the original Golf reversing camera and parking sensors ensures parking safety, while a data-bus connection to the Golf’s on-board computer allows to do all vehicle settings via the Alpine display. The system also includes a cable that allows the usage of the original USB / AUX socket in the centre console.

The X901D-G7 is fully compatible with the latest digital media, providing access to a wide selection of audio and video entertainment. Users can connect their smartphone, including the iPhone 6S and the Samsung Galaxy S6, to enjoy digital content stored on the phone, access the phonebook and charge the phone. They can even activate Siri and voice-control an iPhone for maximum comfort and driving safety. Built-in Bluetooth® technology enables audio streaming from the phone. A DAB/DAB+/DMB tuner delivers digital radio reception with outstanding, noise-free sound quality. In addition, movies, music videos or
 TV shows are viewable from many different sources, including DVDs via the optional DVD Player, USB sticks, smartphones with HDMI output, iPod or portable video devices (optional cables or adapters may be required).

To make driving a much more pleasant experience, the system includes a premium navigation system with a wide range of the latest Alpine features. A virtual keyboard makes it easy to input destination addresses and also allows the keying in of postal codes for all European countries, making address search much faster. 29 different GUI and voice guidance languages are available. Other useful navigation features include TMC Route Guidance with live traffic updates, 3D maps, Smart Route guidance, an extensive Points of Interest database, and maps of 47 European countries - which can be updated online by country and region.

The Alpine Style Infotainment system ensures a true audiophile sound experience in the Golf 7. All components meet Alpine’s highest standards for audio performance and include advanced functions such as a 9-band Parametric EQ for professional equalisation, Digital Time Correction, Digital Crossover network and 10 sound pre-sets. A DVD player (DVE-5300G) that fits perfectly in the Golf 7’s CD drive compartment in the glove box is optionally available.
